Tadalafil is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It was developed by the biotechnology firm ICOS and marketed by Eli Lilly and Company under the name Cialis. Drug similar to sildenafil, sold under the name Viagra, differs from the latter in that the effect of tadalafil is longer, becoming functional until 36 hours, while Viagra is effective for 4 or 5 hours. For this reason it was called "the weekend drug."
